Shop Store About Us Reviews ARRIS SURFboard G36 DOCSIS 3.1 Cable Modem WiFi 6 AX3000 Router 2.5GbE Excellent A Closer Look

The ARRIS SURFboard G36 combines a DOCSIS 3.1 cable modem and a dual-band Wi-Fi 6 router in a single unit, built for households and home offices that subscribe to multi-gigabit cable internet plans from major United States providers. Built in a black upright enclosure, the G36 takes up minimal desk or shelf space, and consolidating the modem and router into one device eliminates an extra power adapter, an extra Ethernet cable, and a second box competing for room near the coaxial wall outlet. DOCSIS 3.1 technology uses wider OFDM channels and more efficient signal modulation than the previous generation standard, which allows the modem to sustain consistent throughput during peak evening hours when neighborhood network traffic is at its heaviest, while remaining fully backward compatible with older DOCSIS 3.0 infrastructure still deployed in many service areas. Wi-Fi 6 introduces OFDMA scheduling and target wake time, techniques that let the router serve many phones, laptops, smart TVs, cameras, and smart home sensors at once with lower latency and reduced battery drain on connected mobile devices, and the wireless signal is rated to cover homes of up to roughly 2,500 square feet. Setup and ongoing management run through the SURFboard Central app, which walks through activation with the internet provider and then handles guest network creation, parental controls, device pausing, and live connection monitoring directly from a smartphone, so a home network can be configured without logging into a browser dashboard.

Key Features:

• DOCSIS Cable Modem Engine: Support for 32 by 8 DOCSIS 3.0 channels and 2 by 2 OFDM DOCSIS 3.1 channels delivers headroom for multi gigabit cable tiers from major internet providers.
• Dual Band Wireless Router: AX3000 Wi-Fi 6 runs the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands at the same time, improving throughput and efficiency when dozens of devices share one home network.
• Multi Gigabit Wired Port: A dedicated 2.5 Gbps Ethernet port lets a gaming PC, workstation, or NAS device use the full speed of a multi gigabit plan over a stable wired link.
• Expanded Wired Connectivity: Four additional Gigabit Ethernet ports connect consoles, smart TVs, streaming boxes, and desktops directly, with no separate network switch needed.
• Certified Provider Compatibility: CableLabs certified and approved by Xfinity, Spectrum, and Cox, the unit removes monthly equipment rental fees and is backed by a two year warranty.
