I bought this Mac Studio specifically to run AI models locally (LM Studio, AnythingLLM, Msty, and similar tools). It handled them well. The M1 Max and 32GB of unified memory ran mid-sized language models smoothly and quietly. In the end, though, I found that cloud-based AI services suited my work better, so the machine’s extra horsepower is going unused. I’ve since moved to a smaller Mac for everyday work, and this one deserves an owner who will use what it can do.
