Vintage Apple 2005 PowerBook G4 17 Inch Widescreen Late Model A1139 1.67 GHz 2 GB/120 GB
The Absolute Last PowerBook Model Ever Made Before the Intel Transition
Wiped & Restored to a Fresh, Out-of-Box Mac OS X 10.5.8 Leopard Install
The machine has been meticulously prepared for its next owner with a fresh, clean installation of Mac OS X 10.5.8 Leopard. It has been left exactly on the factory animated "Welcome" setup screen (see our attached listing video to watch the beautiful startup animation and hear the music!). The buyer will experience the authentic first-time boot setup right out of the box.
Detailed Condition & Functionality Notes:
Display Panels:Panel lights up beautifully. Consistent with age, there are minor cosmetic panel blemishes including two faint gray pressure marks (mura dots) and a tiny piece of stray debris resembling an eyelash trapped beneath the protective outer screen lens layer (please see detailed photos).
Keyboard:The keyboard is fully functional, but the Shift key is loose and not completely attached.
* **Cosmetic Condition:** The solid aluminum chassis shows scratches and signs of normal cosmetic wear consistent with an authentic, well-cared-for vintage machine.
Internal SuperDrive: The internal slot-loading optical drive is faulty; it has typical vintage mechanical failure and will not properly eject discs. A generic external plug-and-play USB tray-loading DVD drive is recommended as a modern replacement.
Battery: The original physical battery is installed but is chemically depleted and no longer holds a charge. The computer must remain plugged into a wall adapter to stay powered.
Networking:The legacy internal Wi-Fi card does not connect to modern wireless encryption standards. The built-in Ethernet port connects perfectly to a local network, though the stock Safari browser is too old to navigate modern web interfaces natively without a modern proxy layout or a legacy text browser.
