The Sound Blaster X-Fi a USB-connected audio interface that plugs into a laptop or desktop to replace onboard sound. It's aimed at boosting a laptop's audio for music, movies, and gaming, using Creative's CMSS-3D technology to remix stereo audio into surround sound — even through stereo headphones — plus EAX Advanced HD for game audio and X-Fi Crystalizer to restore detail lost to audio compression.

• Connectivity includes a microphone-in and stereo line-in (both 1/8" mini jacks), headphone out, left/right speaker out via RCA jacks, rear-left/rear-right out, center/subwoofer out, and an optical TOSLINK output that supports stereo SPDIF pass-through for multichannel DVD sound.
