HPE MSA 2040 SAS storage array controller (HPE C8S53A, FRU 738367-001) — the 12Gb SAS host-port variant. This is the controller module for the HPE MSA 2040 SAN: it runs the RAID engine, manages 4GB of read/write cache, and connects to servers over four 12Gb SAS host ports (SFF-8644 mini-SAS HD, SAS 3.0 — backward compatible with 6Gb SAS devices).
Includes the cache-backup CompactFlash card (installed) — the "do not remove" cache-recovery card. Note: some sellers list these controllers without it.
Specs: 4x 12Gb SAS host ports, 1x 6Gb SAS expansion port (SFF-8088) for disk enclosures, RJ-45 management port, USB/serial CLI, RAID 0/1/3/5/6/10/50. For MSA 2040 chassis only — does not fit MSA 2050.
