⚠️ XFINITY USERS: Check Your Network Before Buying
The Short Version: If Comcast has upgraded your neighborhood to their new "mid-split" network, this modem will max out at 1.2 Gbps and may drop connections.
How to check your network (Log into your current modem at 192.168.100.1):
Check the Event Log: Do you see "Diplexer_Mode_Change_Ignored" or constant "T3 time-out" errors?
Check Frequencies: Do your downstream channels start at 108 MHz (with nothing below 100 MHz)?
Check Speeds: Are you paying for a 2+ Gig plan but permanently stuck around 1.2 Gbps?
The Verdict:
🛑 If YES to any of the above: Your area is mid-split. Do not buy this modem. Look for an Arris S34, Netgear CM2000/CM3000, or Hitron CODA56 instead.
✅ If NO: You are on the traditional network and this modem will run perfectly at full multi-gig speeds!
