Synology DS413j 4-bay NAS chassis—the budget DiskStation from the DS400 series, running Synology DSM with support for up to 16TB raw storage across four SATA drives. Gigabit Ethernet, 2x USB 2.0, and Synology Hybrid RAID (SHR) compatibility.

UNTESTED: Unit has not been powered on. The DS413j uses a proprietary 4-pin DIN +12V 8.33A DC adapter, which I do not have. No power supply means no functional test was possible. Internal condition of the board, fans, and SATA backplane is unknown.
NO POWER ADAPTER INCLUDED: Buyer must source a compatible Synology DC adapter (model AD-90B or equivalent +12V 8.33A 4-pin DIN). These are readily available on for approximately $20-30.
2 OF 4 DRIVE SLEDS: Unit ships with only 2 of the original 4 plastic drive sleds. Two replacement sleds will be needed for full 4-bay operation. Sleds for the DS413j are available on .
NO HARD DRIVES:No HDDs or SSDs included.
NO BOX OR ACCESSORIES: Just the unit itself and the 2 drive sleds inside.

Chassis: Aluminum shell shows light surface scratches and a few small scuffs consistent with normal desk use. See photos.
Front: White plastic clean, Synology branding fully intact, button and LED windows undamaged.
Ports: LAN jack, USB ports, and DC-in barrel all clean — no bent pins, no corrosion visible.
Labels: Both bottom spec label and rear MAC/SN label fully legible.
Rear chassis screws: All four thumbscrews present and turning freely.
Cooling fans: Both rear fans appear unobstructed (spin behavior not tested).

Cosmetically: The unit presents well. The "for parts" listing reflects untested functional status, not cosmetic damage.
