10Gb PCIe Network Card Intel 82599EN SFP+ X520-DA1 NIC for NAS Server
Price: FR $71.99
Overview

Add true 10 Gigabit Ethernet to your desktop, NAS or server with this single-port PCIe network card built on the genuine Intel 82599EN controller, the same silicon used in the Intel X520-DA1. It delivers sustained 10Gb throughput for large file transfers, VM migration, iSCSI storage and backup traffic, and it steps down smoothly to 2.5G, 1G and 100M so it works on slower switch ports too.

Unlike many Intel-branded cards, the SFP+ cage here is not vendor locked. Third-party DAC twinax cables, AOC, 10GBASE-SR multimode and 10GBASE-LR single-mode optics all link up, giving you freedom to use affordable transceivers and cables from any brand.

It is a plug and play upgrade on Proxmox, TrueNAS, Unraid and ESXi, and is also detected by QNAP, Synology, Ubuntu, Debian and CentOS without a driver step. On Windows simply install the Intel Ethernet Adapter Complete Driver Pack and you are online.

  • Brackets: Full-height and low-profile brackets included
Highlights
  • ✓ Unlock full 10GbE speeds for NAS transfers, VM migration and iSCSI storage
  • ✓ Use any-brand DAC, AOC or fiber optics thanks to the unlocked SFP+ cage
  • ✓ Fits almost any build with only four PCIe lanes and both brackets in the box
  • ✓ Works out of the box on popular NAS and hypervisor platforms with no driver hassle
  • ✓ Hardware offload keeps CPU usage low during heavy network loads
Usage

Ideal for home labs, NAS builds, virtualization hosts and small business servers that need fast, reliable 10 Gigabit connectivity. Whether you are moving large media libraries, running iSCSI storage or consolidating VMs, this card gives you the bandwidth without tying up the rest of your PCIe slots.

Note that like any 10G card, the passive heatsink runs warm by design. Provide case airflow or clip a small fan to it in a silent build.

In the Box
  • 10 Gbps PCIe NIC Network Card
  • Driver CD
  • Low-profile bracket
