Important Installation Direction
Install the mSATA SSD on the side that corresponds to the LABEL SIDE of your original hard drive. DO NOT INSERT BACKWARDS (incorrect installation may cause detection failure or damage).
Critical Power & Compatibility Tips
Power Consumption Warning: Old laptops only provide up to 1000mA for the hard drive. Original IDE hard drives use only a few hundred mA.
Must use mSATA SSD with power consumption UNDER 1000mA. High-power SSDs will result in: no detection, blue screen, freezing, or failed formatting.
Speed Limitation: The IDE interface is the bottleneck. Faster SSDs will NOT improve speed after conversion. Low-power SSDs are strongly recommended.
OS Recommendation
Windows XP is highly recommended: Best compatibility and easiest for testing the adapter.
