ARRIS SURFboard SB6190 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem 32x8 Gigabit Ethernet NEW Open Box
Price: US $24.99
Brand new ARRIS SURFboard SB6190 DOCSIS 3.0 cable modem in an open retail box. It's a wired modem with 32 download and 8 upload bonded channels and one 1-Gigabit Ethernet port. Connect it to your own Wi-Fi router, or plug a computer, smart TV or game console straight into it.Condition - please read:
Brand new and unused. The retail box has been opened, but the modem has never been set up or connected to service. The modem, power supply and Ethernet cable are all still in their original plastic bags (photos 2 to 7), the yellow ARRIS license sticker is still on the modem bag (photo 2), and the Quick Start card and safety sheet are included (photo 8). The box is in good shape with some minor shelf wear from storage. Please see all the photos, since they're part of the description. What's in the box:
- ARRIS SURFboard SB6190 cable modem (white)
- Power supply (12V 1A AC adapter)
- Ethernet cable
- Quick Start card
- Software license, warranty, safety and regulatory information sheet
Note: the side of the box (photo 9) lists only the modem and power supply, but this unit also came with an Ethernet cable, as shown in the photos. Please check compatibility before buying:
- This is a cable modem. It needs cable internet service through a coax wall outlet. It does NOT work with fiber, DSL, satellite or 5G home internet (for example AT&T, Verizon Fios, Frontier or CenturyLink)
- Modem only: there's no built-in Wi-Fi, so you'll need a separate router for wireless. It also doesn't support cable phone (digital voice) service
- Please confirm that your internet provider currently supports the SB6190 at your address before buying. The box says it's compatible with Cox, Spectrum and Xfinity, but provider approval lists change. As of 2026, Cox still lists the SB6190 as certified for its plans up to 500 Mbps. Xfinity (Comcast) dropped it, along with other DOCSIS 3.0 modems, from its approved list in April 2026. Spectrum no longer lists it, and Spectrum's DOCSIS 3.0 support is reported to end on October 28, 2026. Optimum and Mediacom also no longer list it. Check your provider's "bring your own modem" or approved-device page
- Your plan speed should be under 1 Gbps. The box says "up to 1 Gbps" (a theoretical maximum), and ARRIS rates this model as best for plans up to about 600 Mbps. For gigabit or multi-gig plans, a DOCSIS 3.1 modem is the better choice
- An honest note for gamers: the SB6190 uses the Intel Puma 6 chipset, and some users have reported latency spikes and jitter with it. Firmware updates come from your internet provider, not from ARRIS. It's fine for everyday browsing and streaming, but competitive online gamers may prefer a different modemSpecifications (from the box and ARRIS):
