I've been playing old games on this Apple IIe for a couple of years. It works great.
I've added the "enhancement kit" which includes a 65c02 CPU and updated ROMs. The kit increases compatibility - a larger set of games and apps will work with this machine than with an "unenhanced" IIe. This is an upgrade Apple released later in the Apple IIe's lifecycle. The kit I installed is a modern replica of Apple's original upgrade.
This machine also includes the 64k/80 column text card. Apple IIe machines originally shipped with these cards included, but many of the ones listed for sale are missing that card.
I've completely disassembled this machine, cleaned everything, and replaced the "Rifa" capacitors in the power supply. These old capacitors are known for violently bursting and spraying smoke and stinky goop everywhere. I've installed modern replacement parts, so that isn't a concern.
The case has some slight yellowing, and there are occasional scuffs and spots. It also has the name of a school engraved on the side. I've tried to capture these in the photos.
To use this machine, you'll need to have some sort of display (an old CRT with composite input, or an adapter for a modern screen). You'll also need some sort of storage. There are many options, ranging from original floppy drives, to emulators, to modern cards that act like a hard drive.
