Item Description
Up for sale is my professional-gradeNVIDIA Quadro GP100 16GB HBM2graphics card. Built on NVIDIA’s Pascal architecture with high-bandwidth memory (HBM2), this workstation card offers incredible double-precision (FP64) compute performance, making it an excellent choice for CAD rendering, 3D modeling, scientific simulations, and local AI/machine learning workflows.
I used the GP100 in my Dell Precision 5820 tower workstation since October 2024 without issue. Its been a fantasitc graphics card for me. It drove 3 x 28" 4k monitors using Nvidia's Mosaic feature (creates one huge desktop vs 3 individual screens placed next to each other). I will miss it, but I recently upgraded my computer and no longer need this amazing card.
Key Features & Technical Specs:
GPU Architecture:NVIDIA Pascal (GP100 core)
VRAM:16GB HBM2 (720 GB/s memory bandwidth)
CUDA Cores:3,584
FP64 Double-Precision Performance:~5.2 TFLOPS (ideal for scientific/compute tasks)
Bus Interface:PCIe 3.0 x16
NVLink Support:Dual-slot NVLink support (up to 160 GB/s offerirectional bandwidth)
Display Outputs:4x DisplayPort 1.4, 1x DVI-D (Dual-Link)
- Power Requirements:1x 8-pin PCIe power connector (235W TDP)
- Form Factor:Dual-slot active cooling blower design
While certainly capable, Gamers may choose to skip over the Quadro GP100 because consumer GeForce cards offer better frame rates. Instead, this card is generally geared towards one of four specific groups:
Scientific Researchers & Engineering Students (FP64 Seekers)
Why:The GP100 has a1:2 native double-precision (FP64) compute ratio(5.2 TFLOPS). Newer workstation cards have artificially limited FP64 performance. Anyone running heavy physics simulations, ANSYS, MATLAB, or CFD (computational fluid dynamics) on a budget targets this specific card.
Local AI / Machine Learning Hobbyists
Why:It features16GB of ultra-fast HBM2 memory(720 GB/s bandwidth) andNVLink capability. Developers building small LLM nodes, running local inferencing, or combining two GP100s via NVLink buy these for budget AI rigs.
Legacy Workstation Upgraders & Enterprise Labs
Homelab & Server Enthusiasts (how I used it)
