RARE GIGABYTE GA-7N400 Pro2 nForce2 Motherboard Athlon XP 2800+, RAM, I/O Combo
Price: US $150.00
RARE GIGABYTE GA-7N400 Pro2 Motherboard Socket A/462 Athlon XP Vintage Enthusiast Gaming and Server Tech. AMD Athlon XP 2800+ CPU. 2x512MB DDR400 400mhz (PC3200) CL3 RAM sticks. I/O shield and heatsink w/fan included. This thing was a beast of a board back in its time. I was going to clean it up but found the warranty void sticker had not been disturbed so I left it alone. Chip will need to be pasted though. It had been sitting for quite some time and I decided to try and resurrect it for a retro machine and or a server. However the board does power up but never booted. Upon review I did notice that it does have some bad capacitors but everything else on the board looks great. This is a true, unmolested survivor board. Before cleaning, the original factory "Warranty Void If Removed" sticker was still completely intact over the Athlon XP CPU, meaning this processor and socket have never been exposed, tampered with, or roughly handled since it left the assembly line. The bad capacitors are typical of this era, making it an incredibly clean, untouched canvas for a retro builder looking to complete a pristine recap project.I do not trust myself and my poor soldering skills to potentially ruin a Holy Grail board like this so thought best to see if any of you would be willing to take on that task. Capacitors are only a few bucks. So this is being sold as is for parts.*packaging was stored in a potentially smoking environment and may have cigarette odor. Will try my best to air out or not use if possible*Key Specifications

^* Fun Retro Tech Trivia: This exact combo was an absolute dream team for PC builders in 2003! Between the high-end GIGABYTE nForce2 motherboard, the premium Barton-core Athlon XP 2800+ processor, and a massive-for-the-era 1GB RAM kit, a builder would have paid around $747 for this setup. Adjusted for inflation, that is a staggering $1,390 in today's money—making this a truly premium slice of retro gaming history!
