• AQXEA is an early production stepping (predominantly manufactured between Weeks 23 and 35 of 2003), making it one of the very few Thorton steppings produced prior to the Week 39 cutoff. As a result, its external L1 bridge circuits remain fully enabled at the factory level, allowing downward and upward multiplier adjustment directly via BIOS on 5-bit FID motherboards.
• The "Holy Grail" Barton Modding Synergy (512KB L2 Unlock + Unlocked Multiplier):
While all Thorton AXDC2200DUV3C steppings can have their disabled 256KB L2 cache reconnected via the L2 bridge mod (using conductive silver paint or copper defogger compound), post-Week 39 steppings remain locked to the high 13.5x multiplier, making high Front Side Bus overclocking difficult without hitting clock walls.
