Note: This unit has been upgradedwith a brand new GPS receiver module fromublox. It is therefore unaffected by theSeptember 18th 2022 week number rolloverevent that caused most XLi receivers to failto sync to GPS and to show an incorrectdate.
Here'sa lightly used Symmetricom XLi Time/Frequency unit in verygood cosmetic condition and that has almost every optioninstalled. The display on this unit is bright and clear. Theunit has been tested and confirmed to operate as it should,including full GPS lock and correct time/date display. Thisunit does have the internal GPS receiver card (87-8028-2)installed which supplies 12 volts to the antenna, so the useof a matched Symmetricom AT575 12V antenna is recommended(not included but listed separately). The internal10MHz oscillator is the upgraded OCXO type forgreater free-running stability. The firmware hasbeen upgraded to the latest version posted on theSymmetricom website (v2.4), and this supports reporting andconfiguration via a web interface. The unit does havethe optional software based functions activated: NTP server,Time Interval/Event Timer (TIET), Frequency Measurement,Programmable Pulse Output. In addition there are fouradditional 10 Mhz Low Phase Noise outputs. Rack ears areprovided as shown. In my testing I was able to achieve lockto GPS time and screenshots of the results of my testing areprovided below. The photos show the actual item for sale.

XLi Option Cards The wide range of XLioption cards make it easy to tailor your system to supportnearly every possible output/input needed for time andfrequency applications, by combining option modules,oscillator upgrades, and two GPS receivers per unit.Plug-and-play cards and built-in XLi option card recognitionsoftware lets you swap out modules without modifying youroperating system.

Seamless Integration The XLi seamlesslyintegrates into a network centric environment. The 10/100Base-T interface is standard. Remote management is facilitatedwith the intuitive HTML web based interface as well as SNMPwith an enterprise MIB. Command line interface is alsosupported via Telnet or the RS-232/422 serial port. The XLican function as a Stratum 1 NTP server with addition of theNTS option.

Modular Architecture for Easy Extensions Themodular XLi architecture allows easy extension of the softwareand hardware in the field. Software updates are remotelyadministered. Existing and future hardware option modules canbe added as needed by the user. The GPS timing interface isalso modular which facilitates future upgrade to alternateGlobal Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), such as Galileo,when available.
