This CD includes a new set of topographic maps made especially for the 1997 Jamboree held at Fort A.P. Hill near Fredericksburg Virginia. It also features information designed to help Scouts advance from rank to rank on the Trail to Eagle, covering skills like reading topographic maps, identifying rocks and minerals, understanding water quality and pollution issues, and more. Special sections present details on the Chesapeake Bay drainage system and ecosystem investigations.

Introduction to the 1997 National Scout Jamboree CD-ROM:
To celebrate the 1997 National Scout Jamboree, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) presents this CD-ROM to Jamboree participants. It was created to provide information about the Earth and its processes to aid in Scouting and in life. The material can help Scouts increase the knowledge required for rank advancement and earning merit badges.

Minimum and Recommended Configurations:
Minimum: PC with a 486-class processor, 8 MB of RAM, 10 MB free hard disk space, SVGA display (256 colors), 2X CD-ROM drive, 8-bit sound card, Windows 3.x.
Recommended: PC with a 586 or Pentium-class processor, 8 MB RAM, 10 MB free hard disk space, SVGA (16-bit color or higher), 4X CD-ROM drive, 16-bit sound card, Windows 95 or NT.

Installation Instructions:
Insert the disc into the CD-ROM drive and run D:\SETUP.EXE. Follow the setup screens to complete the installation. Access the Folio Infobase display screen to navigate the CD.
